Virtual Waiting Room: 

To make registration days easier on everyone, WSPR has upgraded its payment processor and launched "Queue-it" to manage the high volume of website traffic. What does this mean for you on reg day? Your access to the website will start in a virtual waiting room, and everything else remains the same.

Please Note: Contacting reception will not result in faster service. If you need help on registration day, DM us on Facebook!

Throwdown at the Thrifty Foods Skatepark

Come on down and check out the amazing talent of skaters competing in this full-day contest! With a total prize purse of $2400 up for grabs across various categories, from beginners to elite riders, this throwdown is the ultimate culmination of a 7-event series in Greater Victoria and an epic first year of competition at the award-winning Thrifty Foods Skatepark.

    JDF lower park, behind the tennis courts
    Registration not required.

    Enjoy restorative yoga poses with breath work along with classic yoga poses and yoga flow to create a flow of energy in the body. Gain body awareness and a sense of deep relaxation under the trees.

Bring your family, friends, and neighbours for a fun-filled evening in the park with the Westshore Parks & Recreation Community Events Team. Enjoy games, activities, and the chance to connect with our wonderful community. Whether you're here to make new friends or just enjoy a pleasant night out, there's something for everyone! Don't forget to bring a blanket and some snacks.

StoryWalk

August 14: West Coast Wild, by Deborah Hodge. CRD Witty's Lagoon Regional Park (not accessible).

What's a StoryWalk? It's a creative way to enjoy reading and outdoor activity simultaneously. Pages from the book are posted along a walking route, so you can read the story while enjoying a lovely walk.

Movies on the Hill

Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre offers a unique cinematic experience nestled in a scenic setting. This community event features outdoor film screenings on a picturesque hillside, where visitors can relax under the stars and enjoy a diverse selection of movies. With a family-friendly atmosphere, attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets. Perfect for movie lovers of all ages, Movies on the Hill provides an enchanting blend of nature and entertainment, making it a cherished local tradition.

The Shore - Youth Drop-in

Youth night swims continue on Friday nights throughout the summer from 6:30-8PM.

Come September, activities ramp up and youth will again find their place at The Shore at JDF on Fridays. WSPR is proud to partner with Game Ready to have their coaches and mentors on site for select drop in events to help engage youth in games, conversation and opportunities to gain confidence playing a variety of sports.

Starting September 13th, youth will have access to the pool from 6:30-8PM, the ISC for sports and the new climbing wall from 6:30-9PM, and The Shore youth room for games and pizza from 7:30-9PM. Once a month, youth can expend some extra energy in the new bouncy run course!

Youth nights are supervised by three WSPR youth staff and two WSPR security advocates to ensure everyone feels safe and participants abide by the safe spaces policy.

Reminder that all participants must sign in to receive an admission bracelet, agree to random bag checks and be picked up no later than 9:30PM.


New this Fall: Archery with Pacific Archery Academy

If you’re ever thought about archery this program is for you! Come learn the fundamentals that have propelled archery to one of the fastest growing sports/lifestyle activities in the world.

Pacific Archery Academy provides a safe and friendly environment where you can learn innovative techniques and shooting skills. All levels welcome, equipment is provided. Lots of fun to be had in parent & child, youth, and adult classes.
