To meet the growing demand for licensed childcare on the West Shore, WSPR was a recipient of a combined total of $3.8M in grant funding from the Union of BC Municipalities and Ministry of Children and Family Development.
The grant funding will facilitate a renovation to the upstairs of the JDF Recreation Centre to create the new West Shore Parks & Recreation Childcare Centre.
New proposed licensed childcare spaces at WSPR include:
- 24 new daycare spaces in September 2021
- 40 new after school spaces in September 2021
- 20 new preschool spaces in September 2021
