Fitness and Weights are Back! 🏋️

Start your new years resolutions now! Classes are back in action at Westshore Parks & Recreation Centre! With over 12 Drop-in Fitness classes per week including Indoor Cycling, Power Circuit and Bootcamp, there is something for everyone. Reserve your spot online.

Start putting some self-care into your routine with a wellness class tailored to your needs such as Gentle Yoga, Yogilates and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction to nurture and restore.

Come try out some new and exciting fitness classes at JDF Recreation Centre. New classes include Jumping Fitness, POUND Fitness and Fit for Life. Register today to reserve your spot!

Weightroom
The weightroom is now open! Book a 1 hour 45 min pre-reserved time slot and enjoy a safe, comfortable space to resume your fitness routine. 

Personal Training
Its time to get back on track with your fitness routine with a Personal Trainer. Whether you are starting new or wanting to get back into your routine, a personal trainer can help you reach your goals by creating an exercise program designed for your needs and abilities. Sessions can be purchased individually or in packages for extra savings!


Spring Break Camps 🎶

Doing a staycation this spring break? No Problem! These Spring Break camps are just what you need.  Your kiddos can embrace their techy side or release their inner Rock Star, some great opportunities to be engaged and have fun.

Byte Camp

Spring Break Byte Camp - Introduction to Code (9-12 yrs)  
Discover how much fun it is to build your own game! Students will be introduced to basic coding skills with easy to use drag-and-drop software, and get to use those skills to make their very own games. Students will also learn how to create their own 2D vector artwork to make characters and levels that are entirely their own. The final project is a game that you can take home and proudly share with friends online.

Piano, Ukulele and Singing Camp - Full Day (7-12 yrs)
Learn to play the piano with friends and have fun singing with them too! Learn new songs, keyboard training, rhythm, dynamics, reading of bass and treble clefs. In the afternoon, learn to play the ukulele. We'll cover chord shapes, how to hold the ukulele, basic strumming patterns, and lots of songs. We'll cover popular songs for beginners on the ukulele in this fun camp!

Rock Band Camp - Full Day (7-12 yrs)
Choose from bass guitar, electric guitar, piano and drum set. Campers will learn rhythm and theory for their instrument and to play in sync with each other. In the afternoon, learn to play the guitar with friends! Explore reading music, basic chords, single string playing with basic classical technique, and ear training. For beginner and continuing guitarists.

Cedar Vista

Cedar Vista Stables Horse Academy
Interested in becoming a part of Cedar Vista Horse Academy! This fun and interactive weekly program is designed for children to engage with the horses at Cedar Vista Stables in a variety of ways. The hands-on program promotes horsemanship while encouraging students to discover their love of horses. Weekly activities designed specifically for each age group. What to Expect: Each hour-long, once-weekly session will have students learning new things about horses and their daily care. The program is set up as a year long program with monthly registration. Participants can expect to learn something new each week of the year. Weekly topics include safety, farm etiquette, first aid, horsemanship, daily care, and the basics of riding. Each student will also have the opportunity to explore communication, problem solving, goal setting, self expression and leadership through the various activities that Cedar Vista Stable instructors have planned. Children can also look forward to receiving recognition for completing their weekly or monthly topics!

Girls Got Game 🏀

Girls Got Game

The Girls Got Game multi-sport program is designed for those who identify as female aged 9 to 15. In this program, girls will work on fundamental movement skills and developing their physical literacy to become more confident in exploring different sports. Each week, the girls will be exposed to different sports and physical activities, which will be led by strong female athletes and coaches from the Greater Victoria region. Additionally, there will be core leaders who are with the girls throughout the program so they can build trusted relationships.

100x1000 campaign 💯

100x1000 WSPR Skatepark

The Westshore Skatepark Coalition (WSC) and West Shore Parks & Recreation (WSPR) are working in partnership to a build a new 13,000 Square foot multi-purpose all-wheels skatepark in the Westshore that features 3 distinct areas providing free outdoor recreation opportunities to a large spectrum of participants. This park would support children, youth and families with interests in skateboarding, scootering, BMXing and rollerskate/inline-skating in growing communities of the Westshore.

Our goal is to have 100 business and sponsors to donate $1000 to help complete the All-Wheels Skatepark.
